this has been pointed out, discussed, and there is even an accomplishments thread about it. it's well known, and is the most cost efficient way to use energy at end of content. though i did not know there was an XP bonus from going far below your hour hunting area level, this might be unintended.

i personally have been doing this on and off since about level 30 as it is a tremendous credit gain in comparison to a faction XP gain, but knew in higher levels the faction gain would start becoming extreme, and had planned to see if i could come within striking distance of eco's faction XP again sometime.


to delevel yourself back to level 190 from 205 must take some patience. i know one of our members went back 10 levels, and then a batch of a 10 level new content came out the next day.


personally i don't see it as a bug or an exploit of game mechanics. i see it more of finding a creative way to spend your energy at the end of content, and also, a way not to be 4 or 5 levels ahead of content so that one can maybe enjoy the new batch content that has arrived.

many players just hang at end of content and watch energy to spill over, some HK hunt, some build and sell elite sets, hunt behemoths etc etc. and some, just relevel, either for the credit gain, or for the faction xp gain, we all can do it if we chose to, and have the patience, and have had the ability to do it for over a year now.

I have long been aware of this bug as i watched a certain lord of the flies do it multiple times. It is exploitive but imho anyone who has extra energy to do this can go right ahead my faction might not be #1 but we have great members who care about having fun and to my knowledge all our faction XP are legit
Also i would like to point out this wouldnt be an issue if content was released in a timely manner!

The only way to sort this out is by delivering content faster. There is nothing wrong in making sure we burn energy in the most efficient way, killing creatures 3-4 levels below content to keep from overflowing is just silly. The same applies to blindly buffing players or simply allowing energy to overflow..

I personally find much joy in killing Behemoths with the surplus energy, so i dont have to sub/relevel that often. When i do it, i appreciate the credits, not so much the FXP..Which faction can be regarded as the top is not something FXP alone can tell anyway ;)

lol wow...apparently no one here has played FS. this is something that had happened in FS for quite a while. mostly bored players at the end of content and doing the sub-leveling to get extra cash. there is no bonus xp gain...and if there is then i'm getting royally screwed. i had my Virtual level and current level the same (at level 190) and hunted on the 200 map...and had the same xp gain as the level 200 player received. i know in FS that you could get extra xp gain for killing a higher level creature (gained some nice levels during a LE...was level 140s killing the void LE and was getting great gains :D) but it seems that in Sigma you can't.

anyways this is a lame thread. not sure how you expect the game to "fix" this. what happens when a player joins another faction...that will be limited on how much they can contribute since they did that with another faction...and it's lost as soon as you move so you're SOL. although the advisor will still show you're previous contribution when you join back. lol makes no sense but oh well. btw it took me a long while to lose 10 levels...but with content taking so long to come out...i sadly had more than enough time to do that.

This is something I have done a couple of times way back, but I was a coward and only went back 1 level and up and down again and up...scared contennt would come out, but needed the credits badly.
I do not feel guilty about it, as it is a totally legit thing to do, and ANYONE can do it regardless of rank of faction...

And I do not think the top faction should be so high and mighty about it, as I now for sure members of your own faction has also done it.

I myself will do it again at a later date I am sure, as I cant stand HK hunting...too much hazzle for not a lot of gain..at least releveling I can get a few credits to buy flux with...

And any xp that is gained is totally as much worth as any other, as you have to work for it...

now get on with it and have fun and do not be ashamed, no reason not to do it if you got the energy and the time :P

What you call a 'bug' was changed in FS, where xp-gain is now related to level, and not VL, and goldgain nerfed compared to the normal goldgain for that level.

I don't see anything wrong with de-levelling oneself on purpose, it seems a hard grind.

Some people can't afford to donate thousands to get max stam up to the heights needed while waiting for content to come out, so you just want poorer players to sit and loose their stam, making it even easier for rich players to get their Faction position up, because the others can't use theirs? How is that fair?

HK and Behemoth hunting is fine if you have fast connections, for those of us who don't it is just a giant stamloss, to me that is just as much of a bug, even more so when titan release on FS lags the SS2 hunting.
We get told to just grin and bear that, that's fine, but then don't go and whine because some people will spend hours using game-mechanics in a way they can at least try and get some credits together to upgrade, at the same time keeping their faction position up some.

High donator guilds will always have the lead, they started out that way, won't specifically need to work at getting and keeping members, please leave poorer guilds the possibility of working for their members, credits and position.
